okay right... you get it!!!! there's just so much going on in there it's almost hard to talk about in a way that sounds serious. you can see the shape of a good movie. its intentions are even pretty good! sometimes it's even legitimately funny! i feel like it was almost... made too early??? is that crazy?????? the hosts of straightiolab once referred to it as artpop and i think that's really what it boils down to

sometimes i dream of a world where forgetting sarah marshall didn't suffer under judd apatow's curse of making all his movies 30 minutes too long. it would have transcended to another plane. been spoken about in the halls of congress. installed in the smithsonian. dracula musical would be wrapping up its 15th year on broadway.

SPEAK ON IT!!! i had a moment while rewatching the forty year old virgin for the first time in many years where i was like "this movie is TWO HOURS LONG???" lives could have been spared if judd apatow had only learned to edit

(Subscribed recently, and catching up from the beginning of your posts 😁)

It’s no wonder that I connect with this post more than any other you’ve written. I, too, assume we’re of the same age, as these movies were part of my formative years of movie-watching.

A perfect example: in our group of friends, it was recently found out that one of the guys had never seen Super Troopers. There was a collective gasp, everyone was astounded, as if the fact he’d never seen it was almost offensive 😂.

Of course, we put together a guys’ night, complete with going out for dinner, and then back to a house to watch this glorious movie together. I mean, what else would we do?

We felt it was our duty as good citizens of this earth (and/or bros, I guess) to ensure he saw this classic.

Anyway, I thoroughly enjoy your posts, and do enjoy some of the deep dives that make me think on deeper levels (this being one of them). Thank you for taking the time to dissect movies, actors, directors, and the relationships between all three.
