ooh i hope you enjoy!!! let me know what your fave songs are!
can you believe i've never seen the sixth sense? i've only seen john early's iconic impression of toni collette and while i loved it, it'd probably hit different having seen the movie. adding to the list immediately!
OOH i've heard great things about they live! also i just googled and: "Carpenter has stated that the themes of They Live stemmed from his dissatisfaction with the economic policies of then-U.S. President Ronald Reagan, as well as what Carpenter saw as increasing commercialization in both popular culture and politics." hell yeah, brother. adding to the list, thank you!!!
also the first three Evil Dead movies are kind of peak boy movies to me. i’d also argue for The Exorcist to be here even though i feel like possession movies are typically for the girls
THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH QUEERBAITING!!! gen z could stand to be baited!
okay so thank you for reminding me that i've seen the first evil dead and now i must watch the others. sam raimi feels like a boy director but he's so goofy and campy! my friend actually made me watch evil dead (2013) recently and it was so fucking scary and gnarly i almost died. and the exorcist REALLY feels like one i have to see... thank u for these great recs!
have not seen shaun of the dead but i need to make it known that simon pegg and nick frost were also in love in hot fuzz
SO TRUE!!! they would find each other in any universe...
This gave me the inspiration to finally listen to Dead Man's Bones! Groovy indeed.
Rec: The Sixth Sense; it's definitely a Boy Movie, it holds up really well, and it's not too scary -- more sad than anything else
