SO MANY THOUGHTS!!!! 1. Is Mad Max the one? And also, thinking about this particular kind of baby woman goes crazy killer/aggro when she gets a brain in relation to Gone Girl which preceded the 2015 trend but was a movie that made men “scared” of crazy/wiley(?) women…and then also thinking of don’t worry darling and more robot women and the trope of the quiet/complicit woman (Olivia Wilde will not be seeing the gates)…I don’t have any real formed thought but this was SO GOOD it lit my brain on fireee

MAD MAX IS THE ONE!!!!!! of course you knew! i was thinking about gone girl too, especially in relation to ex machina! the PINNACLE of good for her cinema. and man, i will never forget olivia wilde being CONVINCED she was doing something with don’t worry darling… remember how miss flo was like, a surgeon irl????? oh to be a surgeon who gets trapped in robot wife world by harry styles

Ok actually someone needs to hire you to do program a “good for her” series where we can discuss Olivia wilde’s “feminism is about wearing scrubs” philosophy in DWD

what do you think of the notion of movies like poor things and ex machina as "modern" "feminist" spins on the very very old Born Sexy Yesterday story https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0thpEyEwi80

i think that hits the nail right on the head! both movies want to prove they’re better than the trope…… but are they really……..
